ALICE A. COGSWELL
(1926 - 2017)

Alice A. Cogswell, age 90, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Tuesday afternoon, March 21, 2017 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.

Alice was born on October 2, 1926 in the town of Liberty, Manitowoc County. She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Maria Nass Vetter. Alice was a graduate of Valders High School with the class of 1945. In past years Alice was employed with Plumb and Nelson, United Laundries, and Ramona's Courtyard Shoppe. On June 10, 1950 she married Virgil C. Cogswell at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in the town of Liberty. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2000. Alice was a member of the Manitowoc Women's Bowling Association and was inducted into the MWBA Hall of Fame. She bowled in local leagues for over 50 years. Alice was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, Grace Circle, and the church choir.

She is survived by two sons: Michael Cogswell, Manitowoc; Robert Cogswell, Manitowoc; two daughters: Lois (David) Bergquist, Manitowoc; Janet (Michael) Handl, Manitowoc; one brother: Willard (Charlotte) Vetter, Delhi, NY; one sister: Luella (Vernon) Hecker, Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law: Myrt Vetter, Newton; Betty Faith Sixel, Sheboygan Falls; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Edwin and Maria Vetter; husband: Virgil Cogswell; three brothers: Elroy Vetter, Vernon (Lucille) Vetter, and Edward Vetter; one sister: Bernice (Edgar) Pleuss; two sisters-in-law: Phyllis Vetter and Caroline Spaude; one nephew: William Vetter.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 2426 North Rapids Road, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Thomas Pankow. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum.
