John Chermack, one of the best known pioneer residents of Ben Wade, passed away quite suddenly Monday evening. Death was due to heart failure. Mr. Chermack was ill about a half hour, says the Glenwood Herald.
Mr. Chermack was born in Bohemia sixty-nine years ago. He had been a resident of Ben Wade the past thirty years or more and had, during this time, through thrift and economy forges his way ahead to a position of comfort and independence.
He is survived by his wife and by six children: Mrs. John Kalina, Mrs. Frank Landa, Mrs. Frank Prchal, Joe, Charles and Frank Chermack, all of whom live in the neighborhood of the Chermack home.
