She was born Oct. 28, 1907 at Chilton, the daughter of George and Mary Merrill Oakley. She was married to Edmund Kars on January 25, 1949, and he died March 27, 1971. Mrs. Karls was a member of Cathedral Church of St. Paul.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. David Schneider of R. 1, Mount Calvary, and Mrs. Eugene Ditter of Fond du Lac; a son, Douglas, Thorp; 10 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Donald Oakley or rural Chilton and Chester Oakley of Mount Calvary; and three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Lefeber of Kiel, Mrs. Viliet Phillips of R. 1, Malone and Mrs. Kitty Andres of Oshkosh. She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Funeral services were held at Cathedral Church of St. Paul. The Very Rev. John Gulick officiated and entombment took place in Shrine of Rest Chapel Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery
