Leon N. Allison
~ Leon N. Allison, 52, husband of Mrs. Lillian Brown Allison of Warrensburg, N.Y., died Wednesday at his residence.
~ A native of Cherokee County, he had lived in New York for four years, he waw the son of Richard G. and Lillie Douglas Vinesett Allison of Gaffney, retired from U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service and employed by NAPA Auto Parts.
~ Also surviving are one son, Charles Nelson Allison of Warrensburg; two brothers, Bill and Kelton Allison, both of Gaffney; three sisters - Mrs. Alfred (Louise) Pierce, Mrs. Sidney (Martha) Lemmons and Mrs. Johnny (Bertha) Fowler, all of Gaffney; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Bobbie Alak of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Mrs. Joanne Collins of Sante, Calif.; three step-grandchildren.
~ Services were held Friday at 3 p.m. at Grassy Pond Baptist Church conducted by Revs. Hugh Burlington and Sidney Norton with burial in the church cemetery.
~ Pallbearers will be Johnny Fowler, Sidney Lemmons, Ricky Powell, Jeff Green, Steve Allison and Wayne and Ricky Pierce.
~ Body is at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home where family will receive friends Thursday night.
~ Body will be placed in the church Friday at 2:30 p.m.
