Dale Fout, age 87 of Ray, departed from this life on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at his home.
He was born Oct. 6, 1917, to the late Dayton and Nancy Salts Fout in Harrison Township, Vinton County. Dale was retired from the B & O Railroad and the postal service where he drove the Star Route from Chillicothe to Ray for more than thirty years. He was also a farmer.
Dale is survived by his children, Paul of Ray, Tom (Sharon) of Tennessee, Carolyn "Katie" (Virgil) Goff of Ray, Bill and Myron Bryan; sisters, Ruby Harper of Londonderry and Myrta Manor of Chillicothe, nineteen grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; many nieces/nephews and cousins and special friend, Lucille Butterbaugh.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Miller; sisters, Cora Thornton, Emma Arganbright and Minerva Davis; brothers, Jennings, Cliff and Chauncy "Red"; son, Ray; daughter, Dianne Sickles; grandson, Kevin Fout; granddaughters, Paula Crane and Cindy Fout; and special friend, Loretta Bryan.
Friends called at the J. P. Rogers Funeral Home, 120 West Broadway, Wellston, on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. Services were held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Reverend A. B. Maloy officiating. Boblett Cemetery will serve as the final resting place for Dale S. Fout.
