Vinton County Woman, 100 Dies
Mrs. Nancy S. Fout, 100, died early Monday at the residence of a daughter, Mrs. Mertie Manor, Route 2.
Her funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Pleasant Valley Holiness Church with the Rev. Clarence Haddox officiating. Burial will follow in Boblett Cemetery.
Friends may call at the James N. Blower Funeral Home, McArthur, after noon Wednesday and at the church after 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
A native of Harrison Township, Vinton County, she was born on February 28, 1875 to William and Susan Arbaugh Salts.
She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer D. Fout who died in 1940, 7 brothers and sisters, a daughter and two sons.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Cora Thornton, Chillicothe, Mrs. Minerva Davis, Route 2, Mrs. Manor and Mrs. Ruby Harper, Londonderry; two sons, Jennings, Athens and Dale of Ray. 32 grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren and 40 great-great-grandchildren.

Nancy and her husband Elmer, lived in a log house where Elmer was born.
All nine of their children were also born there.
At the time of her passing, Nancy had 32 grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren, and 40 great-great grandchildren.
At the time of her passing, Nancy was 100 years and 5 months old. She was one of my great grandmother, Eliza Ella (Salts) Smallridge's sisters.
