Thomas S Nealis, a widely known and respected resident of Avoca, passed away this morning at his home, 1212 Main St, following an illness of one week's duration. Mr Nealis was 70 years of age and had resided in Avoca his entire life. His death caused sincere sorrow among his legion of friends in this community. He was a member of St Mary's RC Church and affiliated societies. Surviving are his widow, Mary, and the following children: Rev Donald Nealis CP of Pittsburgh, Jack of Carlsbad NM, Mrs Elizabeth Neary, Nan, May, Thomas and Joseph at home; one sister, Mrs Catherine King of Rutherford NJ; two nephews, Rev Martin King of Clarks Summit and Rev John King of Dushore. ~ Pittston (PA) Gazette, Wed 19 Dec 1934
