Manitowoc - Lavern A. Bialek, age 86, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 27, 2021 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.
Lavern was born on February 4, 1934 in Reedsville, daughter of the late John and Elsie (Maertz) Treichel. She was a graduate of Reedsville High School with the class of 1952. On May 31, 1952 she married Edwin Bialek at St. John-St. James Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsville. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1992. Lavern worked for Mirro Foley for 45 years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, the Manitowoc Senior Center and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include one son: Gary Bialek and special friend Susan Ward, Manitowoc; two granddaughters: Laura Bialek, Milwaukee, Cassandra (Tony) Migica, Louisville, KY; special friends: Charles and Connie Isackson, Dan and Ann Eisner. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Elsie Treichel; her husband: Edwin Bialek; one daughter: Sharon Bialek; three brothers: Norbert, Gilbert and Raymond; four sisters: Lucinda, Lucille, Mildred and Evelyn.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Revs. Robert Kujawski and Stephen Melso with entombment to follow at the Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Due to the current pandemic, everyone in attendance is required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing when possible.
