James passed away Thursday, Oct 7th 2021 peacefully at home in Langhorne. He was 91 years old. Born May 9th, 1930 in South Langhorne (Penndel), he was the youngest child of the late Frederick and Annie (Thompson) Hewins. Married Ruthann L. Potter on September 21st 1956 at Langhorne Methodist Church, they recently celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary. A U.S. Army Veteran, James was also a Life Member of Penndel Fire Co. #1. He followed in the family trade and worked at Native Lace Works in Hightstown, NJ, which was were the lace from Ruthanns' wedding dress was made. He later became a U.S. Postal Letter Carrier, from which he retired in 1989.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his eleven siblings: Doris, William, Phoebe, Frederick Jr, John "Jack", Ernest "Woody", Robert, Theodore, Charles, Ann and Christopher, as well as their spouses.
He will be greatly missed by his three children, Robert (Judith Grasso), Denise (David Sutton), James (Karen Morrison), seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Inseparable in life, James and Ruthann, will be laid to rest on Friday, Oct 29th 2021 at the James O. Bradley Funeral Home, Inc, 260 Bellevue Ave, Penndel, Pa 19047 from 900 am to 1100 am with a Funeral Service to be held at 1100 am. James and Ruthann, their interment will follow in Beechwood Cemetery. Donations in memory of James and Ruthann may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
