Cecil Nutter

Cecil N. Nutter, son of John N. (Jack) and Mathilda Forney Nutter, was born December 19, 1909, in Lincoln Township, Republic County, and died December 4, 1991, at Roswell, N.M., at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 15 days.

He graduated from high school.

He was united in marriage to Ernestine Gilles, November 19, 1935, and to this union three children were born.

He was engaged in farming all his life and was a lifetime area resident of Republic County.

He was a Republican Central Committeeman.

He is survived by his wife, Ernestine of rural Agenda; one son, Charles Nutter of rural Belleville; two daughters, Mrs. Vinton (Imogene) Roose of Roswell, N.M., Marlene Chappell of McPherson; two brothers, McKinley Nutter of rural Belleville, Maurice Nutter of Ames; three sisters, Mrs. Selma Spurrier, Bixby, Okla., Mrs. Blanche Johnson, Concordia, and Darlyne Lampert, Concordia; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held December 7 at Bachelor-Faulkner- Dart Memorial Chapel in Belleville, conducted by Rev. Roy Brotton. Interment was in Union Cemetery south of Wayne.
