She was born October 12, 1872 in Grant township, near Talmo, where she grew to womanhood.

She was united in marriage to John N. Nutter March 8, 1893, and to this union 12 children were born; six daughters and six sons. One daughter, Mamie Viola passed away September 7, 1904, when ten months old.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, John N. Nutter and the following children, Mrs. Susia (sic) Courville, Mrs. Lucille Bender McKinley, Fred Orley, of Concordia, Kan., Mrs. A.R. Spurrier of Morland, Kan., Cecil Maurice, Blanch and Darleen of the home. Also two sisters, Mrs. Joe Mauck of Belleville, and Mrs. James Cooper of Schulter, Okla, and two brothers, Alfred Forney of Talmo and Harry Forney of Belleville; also four grandsons, many other relatives and a host of friends. Mrs. Nutter was a kind and devoted wife and mother, whose going leaves a vacant spot in the home. She was a lover of nature and all things beautiful. She lived a good Christian life and was a firm believer in God.

The funeral services were conducted at the church in Talmo. The sermon was preached by the Rev. P.O. Davis of the Christian church (sic) at Belleville on Sunday afternoon, August 18, and interment made in the cemetery four miles east of Talmo.
