Lillian was born in Northborough, MA. She was the daughter of Hercule Derosiers and Eugenia Rousseau Corriveau. Her parents married each other after both of their spouses died, so she was actually raised with at least nine siblings. Lillie married Francis Howard on Oct 2, 1916. They had one daughter, Carol Howard Dunn.

For many years after Carol's birth, Lillian and Francis were separated, so she worked as a housekeeper in several private homes, as well as at Roy's Funeral Home on Hammond St. where she took care of the invalid matriarch of the Roy family. After Lillian retired she took the time to care for her ailing sister, Hattie, as well. In the final chapters of her life, Lillian lived in an elderly housing unit in Leicester for twelve years, then at her daughter's house in Holden and finally at St. Francis Home in Worcester, MA where she died. At the time of her death she left six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Lillian bought the cemetery stone in Spencer for her sister, Jeannia, Jeannia's husband, Walter, and their brother Ernest. This was one of her many kindnesses to family members and friends.
