Emilie Prunier was born in Essex Junction, VT. She was one of thirteen children for Francois Prunier and Elmira Goyet. She was known for her devotion to daily Mass.

She married Joseph Bruno Boucher in Worcester on Oct 17, 1887. They had Emilie, Rose, Joseph, William, Clement, Octavie, Louis and Salime Boucher. They raised their children in a small house on the brickyard property behind 178 Plantation St before moving to Division St. Her sister lived with them for a number of years.
