Helen Irene (Rena) Dorsey Arp, 77, of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2002 in the Indiana Veterans Hospital, Lafayette, Indiana.
She was born on November 12, 1924 in Cosby Tennessee, the daughter of Bruce Dorsey and Virgie (Gunter) Dorsey.
She married Herbert C. (Bill) Arp on March 7th, 1948, in Mt. Rainer, Maryland. Rena was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, cooking, listening to Gospel music, and above all spending time with her family. She accepted Christ as her Saviour at an early age, and served Him all her life.
Survivors include: Her husband Bill of Lafayette, Indiana; four daughters: Vivian Marie Arp of Cassville Missouri; Glenda Jean Holechko of Chicago, Illinois, Cynthia Ann Snyder of Crown Point, Indiana, Jayme Dorsey Goffin of Crown Point, Indiana. Three sisters: Eva Gladys Dorsey Darter of Springfield Missouri, Wilma Imogene (Jean) Dorsey Keckler of Purdy, Missouri, and Shirley Ann Dorsey McMillan of Newport, Tennessee; Two brothers: James Harold Dorsey of Cosby Tennessee; Wayne
Dorsey of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and her step mother Opal Dorsey of Newport, Tennessee. Two grandchildren, Gina Holechko and Aaron Snyder, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters Fran, Pauline and Geraldene and one brother Ed.
Services are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South of Springfield, Missouri, with burial in Arnhart Cemetery with the Reverend Joe Wogoman conducting services.
