Allaree B. Armstrong

Allaree Blackwell Armstrong, 98, widow of Louie Thomas Armstrong, of 101 Apalache-Duncan Road, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at the McCall Hospice House of Greenville.
A native of Pea Ridge, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Robert F. and Cecilia G. Blackwell, a retired employee of Carolina Blouse and a member of Zoar United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Steve Armstrong of Greer; a brother, Eldridge Blackwell of Greer; five sisters, Iva Wood, Frances Stewart, and Hilda Morris, all of Greer, Maggie Armstrong of Fountain Inn and Earnestine "Tina" Scroggs of Greenville; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased also by a son, Melvin L. Armstrong; four brothers, Virgil, Durham, Woodrow and Grover Blackwell; and two sisters, Ruth Smith and Bertha Anders.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at Zoar United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Jimmy Dillard and Dr. Drew Hines. Burial will follow in Zoar United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 until 3 p.m. at Zoar United Methodist Church.
The family is at their respective homes.
