Meharg-Fisher
On Thursday afternoon (February 10th), at 2 O'clock, John Meharg, a well known ball player of Coatesville, and Miss Sara Rebecca Fisher, a popular woman of Modena, were united in marriage at the home of the Rev. Calvin G. Ax, Chief Burgess of Downingtown. After an extended honeymoon to Niagra Falls, the young couple will reside in Coatesville, where Mr. Meharg is employed by the Bethlehem Steel Company.

John S. Meharg, 94, of Modena, died on Tuesday, March 23, 1993, in the Hickory House Nursing Home, Honey Brook.
He was the widower of Sara Rebecca Fisher Meharg.
Born in Oxford, he was the son of the late Samuel H.W. and Laura Hatton Meharg.
He seerved with the U.S. Cavalry during World War I.
He retired in 1963 as a machinist from the Lukens Steel Co., Coatesville, after 38 years.
He was active in baseball leagues in the Coatesville area for many years.
A resident of Modena for 48 years, he had previously resided in Coatesville.
He was protestant by faith.
He was a member of the Lukens Veterans Guild, the Clifford O. Mullin Post of the American Legion of Coatesville; and a life member of the Modena Fire Co. and the Brandywine Fire Co., of Coatesville.
He is survived by two daughters, Geneva Pugh of Romansville and Joan Meharg of Modena; a sister, Emma Meharg of Coatesville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 26, at the Robert A. Harris Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville.
Interment will be in Hopewell Methodist Cemetery, East Brandywine.
