Samuel W. Meharg, 50, of 122 Chester ave., died yesterday in the Coatesville Hospital. He had not been in good health for some time, having suffered a prior heart attack.
Born in Coatesville where he had lived all of his life, he was a son of Laura H. and the late Samuel H. Meharg. He was employed by Lukens By-Products Steel company, and was a graduate of Coatesville High School class of '26.
A member of Olivet Methodist Church, the deceased was also a member of the Wesley Bible Class of the same church.
Having served in the U.S. Army during World War II, he was a member of the Clifford O. Mullin Post No 64. He was a life member of the Brandywine Fire Company; a member of West End Fire company; and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Coatesville Aerie No 467.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, John F. Meharg, Modena; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Howe; Miss Emma Meharg, both of Coatesville; and Mrs. Theodore J. Daniels, RD 1, Coatesville.
Funeral services will be held at Archie S. Maclean's funeral home 5th ave., and East Lincoln hwy., Coatesville, on Monday, April 15, at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home between 7 and 9 o'clock.
