Truman was a lifelong resident of Stoughton, after school he joined the Army and served over seas as a sergeant during WWII. After the war Truman returned home and worked road construction with Rein Schultz and Dahl, Erickson Crushing, and Rosenbaum Construction until his retirement. He was a former Past Commander of the VFW Post 328, Dane County Council, and a member of the Cooties.
Some of Trumans favorite hobbies were fishing, deer hunting, auto racing, the Brewers, the Packers, and playing cards.
Truman is survived by his five children; Larry (Lori), Tom (Rhonda), Gary, Barb Dodson, and Donna Iverson. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Brian, Chad, Tyler, Rory, Zach, Sam, Dayna, Kyle, Mike, Andy, Erin, 8 great-grandchildren, his brothers George (Marge) and Roger (Sharon), and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, son-in-law Les Dodson, and 8 brothers Sanford, Gilman, Philip, Sidney, Julian, Earl, Ruben and Neal.
Services will be held 12 Noon on Sat. Dec. 28, 2013 at Cress Funeral Home 206 W. Prospect, Stoughton. With a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to thank the staff at Skaalen Home for their years of care and friendship.
