The name given when he immigrated to the USA from Norway in 1914 was Jorgen Maylund, but he had it legally changed to George S. Erickson. His father's name was Syver Erickson. (His parents remained in Norway.) He married Marlin Larson on January 30, 1918. George and Marlin owned a farm on Koshkonong Road in the Dane County township of Pleasant Springs. He was the father of 11 sons, and he loved to fish. He is buried next to his wife and a son, Ruben Erickson.
