Thomas Verwolf of Manhattan, retired farmer and former Trident Cement Company employee, died Monday at the Deaconess Hospital.

He was born February 14, 1893, in Armour, S.D., son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Verwolf. He spent most of his childhood in South Dakota and Washington and came to Bozeman with his family by covered wagon in 1922.

Since arriving in the valley, Verwolf had lived in the Manhattan area.

He married Dirkie VanDerWerff at Armour, S.D., on December 21, 1915.

Survivors, in addition to his widow, include three sons, George of Bozeman, Myrtle of Inglewood, Calif., and Peter of Paramount, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Wilford (Anna) Hibbs of Boulder, Mrs. Merle (Iva) Matthews of Bozeman and Mrs. Walter (Thelma) Hotzel of Manhattan; three brothers, Peter M. Verwolf of Sandpoint, Idaho, Henry of Manhattan and Nick of West Yellowstone; four sisters, Mrs. Barney (Jane) DeBoer of Corsica, S. D., Mrs. Tony (Kate) Van Diest of Paramount, Calif., Mrs. Bertha Gray of Redwood City, Calif., and Mrs. Hazel (Billie) Randall of Selah, Wash.; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, one brother and three sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Burial will be in the Meadowview Cemetery at Manhattan.
