Peter J. Verwolf, 84, of Paramount passed away peacefully at his home on December 17, 2005 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Betty; children, Judy DePalma, Jerry Verwolf (Debbie), Joan Dull (Nelson); grandchildren, Shauna Wolf (Scott), Joseph Gauvin, Jerry Jr. Verwolf, Joshua Verwolf (Noelia); great grandchildren, Courtney Wolf, Tyler Wolf, Cassidy Wolf, Victoria Verwolf, Athena Verwolf, Joshua Jr. Verwolf, and Dalton Verwolf. He was preceded in death by his two grandsons, Philip Dozier and Clint Verwolf.

Peter was born October 25, 1921 in Oral, South Dakota. At the age of 10 months he learned to walk by holding on to the side of the covered wagon on their move to Manhattan, Montana. He then moved to California at the age of 19, where he met and married his beautiful wife, Betty, on June 3, 1946.

Peter is a Veteran of World War II where he served as a Corporal in the Army. He then went on to work at VanDiest Brothers as a foreman laying sewer lines for 43 years. Peter retired in 1986 and enjoyed spending time with his family, playing Bingo, going to Las Vegas and watching his great grandkids play baseball. Peter is going to be missed by all of those lucky enough to have known him. You couldn't find a better husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa or friend.

Visitation services will be held at Rose Hills Mortuary Stateroom on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 from 6-8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. in the Sky Rose Chapel at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd., Whittier, CA. Reception immediately following in the banquet room located at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
