Dirkie Verwolf, 15 West Lamme, died Wednesday at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital.

She was born December 24, 1899, in Pella, Iowa, a daughter of John and Myrtle VanDerWerff. She received her education in Iowa schools and married Thomas Verwolf December 21, 1915, in Armour, South Dakota, after which they farmed in South Dakota. In 1922, they moved to the Manhattan area where she had lived until her recent illness.

She was a 30-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Merle (Iva) Matthews, Bozeman, Mrs. Bill (Anna) Hibbs, Boulder, and Mrs. Walter (Thelma) Hotzel, Manhattan; a son, Peter Verwolf, Paramount, California; a sister, Mrs. Martin Oosthock, Burmingham, Iowa; three brothers, Andrew VanDerWerff, Concord, California, Bert VanDerWerff, Miller, S.D., and John VanDerWerff, Lead, S.D.; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and three sons.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel, with burial at Meadow View in Manhattan.
