Clarence E. Groninger, 82, of 1500 Miles St.,
died at 2:11 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital.
Born July 10,1910, in Ottawa, Kan., he was the
son of Taylor John and Mary Matilda Hillman
Groninger. On Aug. 18, 1927, he was married to
Elmina May Stout, who died Feb. 10,1964.
Mr. Groninger was a baker at Small's Bakery for
18 years and he retired from Logansport
Machine Co. after 30 years of employment.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge.
Surviving are five daughters, Dorothy Garrison,
Lafayette, Maryan Ropp, 1417 Chicago St., Jean
Shepard, 919 W. Miami Ave Betty Jo Johnston,
500 Davis Road, and Nancy Grable, 1117 Helm
St., one son, Terry, S30-20th St.; one daughter
-in-law, Helen Groninger, who resided with
and took care of Mr. Groninger; 23 grand
children; 41 great-grandchildren; and five
great-great-grandchildren.
One daughter, one son, one sister, two
brothers and one grandson preceded in death.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in
Marocco Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Art
Maloney officiating. Burial will be in
Delphi IOOF Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in
the funeral chapel.
