William S. Wells, Sr., 64, of Tremont, IL passed away Sunday, September 10, 1972 in Pekin Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for two days.
He was born March 20, 1908 in Bourbon, KY, a son of Thomas and Mary Etta Winkler Wells. He married Anna Reel December 10, 1927, in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are four sons, William Jr. of Pekin, Willis of Peoria, Donald of Delavan and Ernest (Gene) of Groveland; two daughters, Mrs. Delores Otto of San Jose and Roberta of Tremont, 22 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward of Mackinaw, and four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Waggoner of Pekin, Mrs. Modena Newell and Mrs. Cleora Sigler, both of Mackinaw, and Mrs. Annabelle Pleines of Foosland.
A son, Ray T; and granddaughter, Becky Sue preceded him in death.
He retired as a pipefitter from CPC International, Pekin in 1970.
