ANDERSON – MRS. ROBERTA ANDERSON, aged 94, of Rockford and Greenville, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2000.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Parnell and a former member of both the Rockford and Greenville Garden Clubs. Mrs. Anderson wrote the column "I Remember" for the Rockford Squire. The mother of six children, Mrs. Anderson took care of her family and in the later years, she liked to oil paint and would give them as gifts.
She is survived by her children, JESSIE ANDERSON of Jameson, PA, THOMAS and JEAN ANDERSON of Pierson, ELIZABETH and DR. RICHARD SPOSATO of Lincoln, NE, LOUIS ANDERSON of Rockford, JOE and MARY JANE ANDERSON of Rockford, GEORGE and SHIRLEY ANDERSON of Greenville; 25 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brother and sisters, MRS. MARGARET CAMLING of Grand Rapids, SISTER MARY GEORGIA, RSM and SISTER MARY CARMEN, RSM, both of Farmington Hills, MI, PAUL BROWN and his wife, VIRGINIA of Grand Rapids; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, THOMAS D. ANDERSON SR. in 1971; her brothers, C.R. BROWN and REV. LOUIS BROWN, CSsR; and a sister, VIRGINIA DRAPER.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Parnell with REV. JOSEPH PETTIT as celebrant. Interment in St. Charles Cemetery, Greenville. The Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday evening at 8 PM. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Gratiot Home Care or Right to Life. Friends may celebrate Mrs. Anderson's life with her family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home, and from noon until the time of Mass at the church on Wednesday.
