BROWN – REV. FR. LOUIS E. BROWN, CSsR, aged 74, of Chicago, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 1987 at Metropolitan Hospital, Grand Rapids.

He is survived by his sisters, MRS. THOMAS D. (ROBERTA) ANDERSON of Rockford, MRS. EDWARD R. (VIRGINIA) DRAPER of Bradenton, FL, MRS. FREDERICK L. (MARGARET) CAMLING of Grand Rapids, SISTER MARY GEORGIA BROWN, RSM, of Battle Creek, SISTER MARY CARMEN BROWN, RSM, of Farmington Hills; one brother, MR. PAUL (VIRGINIA) BROWN of Grand Rapids.

He was the son of the GEORGE C. and ANNA M. BROWN. He was born in Grand Rapids. He attended St. James School and entered the Redemptorist Order in 1927. He was ordained to the Priesthood in 1939 at Oconomowoc, WI. Fr. Brown served Parishes in Detroit, St. Louis, Kansas City, Lebanon, Indiana and St. Michael and St. Alphonsus in Chicago.

The family will meet friends Thursday 2 to 4pm at O'Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel. On Thursday Fr. Brown's body will be transferred to St. Alphonsus Church where he will lie in state beginning at 5pm till 9pm. Friends and relatives will pray the Rosary Thursday 8pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday 12 noon at St. Alphonsus Church 224 Carrier N.E. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
