CAMLING - MARGARET KATHERINE (BROWN) CAMLING, age 96. Margaret was born on July 7, 1909 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was the daughter of GEORGE CLEMENT and ANNA MARY (nee SCHMIDT) BROWN. Margaret was the fourth of eleven children and attended St. James Catholic Grade School, Mount Mercy Academy, Mercy Central School of Nursing. She worked in surgery at Grand Rapids Osteopathic Hospital (now Metro Health) for over 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, FREDERICK L.; son ROBERT F.; brothers, CLEMENT BROWN, REV. LOUIS BROWN, CSsR, PAUL BROWN; sisters, ROBERTA (THOMAS) ANDERSON, VIRGINIA (EDWARD) DRAPER. Margaret is survived by five children, JOANNE ANDERSON of Coopersville, CARMEN ORLIKOWSKI, JOHN (PATRICIA) CAMLING of Wayland, ANN (BILL) HUBBARD of Holland, MARGARET BRASIC; daughter-in-law, BERNICE CAMLING of Walker, sisters, SR. MARY GEORGIA BROWN, RSM and SR. MARY CARMEN BROWN, RSM both of Farmington Hills; sister-in-law, VIRGINIA BROWN. Margaret is also survived by 35 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and her dear friends at Heron Woods.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle, 2750 Burton St. SE. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Rosary Tuesday at 8 p.m. Visitation Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the O'Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE and one hour prior to service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul the Apostle/Daniel J. Donnelly Education Foundation or Grand Rapids Right to Life.
