George Ray Moore
George Ray Moore, 72, a life-long resident of the Baring community, died at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, July 3, 1973, at his home in Baring. He had been engaged in farming most of his life. Although in failing health the last few years, death was unexpected.
Rosary was recited Wednesday evening. Funeral services were at 10 o'clock last Thursday morning at St. Aloysius Church in Baring. The Rev. Michael Flannigan officiated and burial was in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Ronald Moore, of west of Baring, four grandchildren, three step children, Richard Kimble of Sedalia, Jack Kimble of Winchester, Ill., and Mrs. Betty Callaway of Belle, and 13 step grandchildren.
Mr. Moore was born July 13, 1900, near Baring, and is the last of the twelve children of John and Anna McFadden Moore. He was married Aug. 24, 1931, to Miss Marie Knapp of Edina and they were parents of the surviving son. Mrs. Moore died June 11, 1941. Mr. Moore was married Sept. 18, 1950, to Mrs. Mary Kimble, who survives.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, Ernest, William, Frank, Nova, Bert, Charles and Leo Moore, and four sisters, Edith, Irene and Margaret Moore and Mrs. Alice Hilt.
Those from a distance to attend funeral services were Henry Early of Houston, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kimble and son, Jim, of Winchester, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kimble and daughters, Mary Ann and Susan of Sedalia, Mrs. Betty Callaway and daughters, Elizabeth and Sharon, and sons Richard, Wade and Kevin, of Belle, Mrs. Glen I. Huffman of Raytown, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kimble of Kirksville, Steven Mayer of Unionville, Misses Norma and Phyllis Mayer and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Menke of Ft. Madison, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Web Hetzler of Quincy, Miss Barbara O'Rourke of Moberly, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hunolt of Canton, Richard Early of Bloomfield, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Elsea of Chesterfield.
