Immigrant from Wales. Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Potts who also immigrated to the colonies from Wales.

An direct ancestor to President Teddy Roosevelt

10 Children: Thomas, John, Jonathon, Elizabeth, Stephen, Mary, Rebecca, Daniel, Nathan, & Ezekiel.

~~~~~~~~~~
The Pennsylvania Gazette of Nov. 19, 1730, contained a notice of his death in which it is stated that
 "'Monday last died Mr. David Potts, one of the Members of Assembly for this County".
Using a 1730 Gregorian calendar, November 19th was a Sunday, so "Monday last" would be November 13, 1730, the date of death of David Potts. Incidentally the date his will was signed was also Nov 13, 1730 at Bristol (a now defunct township) in Philadelphia, PA. His Will was proved Nov 26, 1730; and his estate was inventoried Dec 4, 1730; Will Book E, page 142 at Philadelphia.
P.S. His father, Thomas Potts, never came to the colonies, having died in Wales after his wife and 6 of their 8 children came to the colonies in 1683.
