SOPHIE W. WILHELM

Mrs. Sophie Whipkey Wilhelm, 91, of 770 East Greene Street, Waynesburg, died at 1 p.m. Monday, July 30, 1973 after a long illness.

Born September 29, 1883 in Aleppo Township, she was the daughter of John C. and Lydia Lohr Whipkey, and was the widow of Frank E. Wilhelm, who died December 19, 1970.

Mrs. Wilhelm had been a resident of the Waynesburg area nearly all of her life, where she and her husband owned and operated a store and service station in adjacent Blairtown for several years.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Waynesburg, and belonged to the Emerald Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Evans of Indiana, Pa.; and Mrs. Robert (Doris) McGillivray of Tavores, Fla.; two granddaugters, Mrs. Louis (Jo Ann) Jacobs of Cherry Tree; and Mrs. E. R. (Nancy) Biddle, Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; and Sergeant Douglas McGillivray, living in Arizona; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Clara Phillips of Waynesburg; and two brothers, Jesse Whipkey of Aleppo; and Ray C. Whipkey of Wind Ridge R. D. 1

A sister and four brothers are deceased.
