JAMES F. WHIPKEY
James F. Whipkey, 88, of Aleppo, Died in his home at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, OCtober 18, 1967. Although he had been in failing health for some time, his death was unexpected.
A son of John C. and Lydia Lohr Whipkey, he was born MAy 26, 1878, in Aleppo Township, where he resided all his life. Mr. Whipkey was a farmer and had served as a memebr of the Aleppo Township board of supervisors. He was a member of the Aleppo Brtthren Curch.
He married twice. Both his first wife, Louise Rinehart Whipkey, and his second wife, Olive Moore Whipkey, are deceased.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. K. Wayne (Geraldine) Riggle, of Cameron, W. Va., R. D. 1, and Mrs. Carl (Genevieve) White, of Aleppo; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a stepson, Orville D. Ullom, of Haverhill, Mass.; two brothers, Jesse Whipkey, of Cameron, R. D. 1, and Ray C. Whipkey, of Wind Ridge, R. D. 1, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Sophie) Wilhelm and Mrs. Clara Phillips, both of Waynesburg.
Funeral services were held Sunday with burial in Centennial Cemetery.
