David Earl Nichols, 77, of High Street, West Portsmouth, died Sunday at Scioto Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
A member of Peebles Tabernacle in West Portsmouth, he was a retired Norfolk & Western Railway section foreman.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Johnson Nichols; a son, Earl F. of Portsmouth Route 5, four daughters, June Jewell of Cincinnati, Linda Thomas of Portsmouth, Dotty Wentworth of New Boston and Glenna Thompson of West Portsmouth; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services are planned at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roger W Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, with the Rev. William Whitaker officiating, and burial in Lucasville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and until time of services Wednesday.
