--------------------------
George, a farmer, aged 81y 6m 16d, married Rachel Liter on the 28th of June, 1821. They had nine children; Mary, Cornelious, Hannah, Louisa, Eleanor, George W., James, Amanda and John B. Steinmetz.
--------------------------
I have found many spellings from the old days differ as only certain individuals could spell and most common folk could not.

This large family spread across the states, esp. Ohio, spelling their family name at least seven different ways!
Please be aware of this before attempting to make new memorials. The memorials reflect how the tombstone is engraved and links made for each person whenever possible.
---------------------------
NOTE: ! ! ! ! Usually spelled STINEMETZ, but
STEINMETZ, Steinemetz, Stinemets, Stinemates, Stinmetz, Stimatze, Stinemetze and Stinmets, are also commonly found as well as several other variations. I have confirmed most, if not all are of the same family line regardless of how it was spelled. Spellings vary in hundreds of tombstones and documents but links are certain. TJD2012
---------------------------
Help or additional information is always welcome.
