Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Monday, October 4, 1954:
  Mrs. Anna P. Slemmer, 79, of 253 West Union street died at 9:20 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph hospital, Alton. She was born August 10, 1875 in Prague, Czechoslovakia, the daughter of the late Frank and Antonia Kotiza Kubicek.
  She was married to Frank Slemmer January 21, 1893 at St. Mary's Catholic church in Edwardsville. He preceded her in death in 1912. Those surviving are three sons, Joseph Slemmer, Oliver Slemmer, Leon Erlich of Edwardsville; four daughters, Mrs. Florence Zajicek, Mrs. Beatrice Trebing, Mrs. Christine Hearne, Mrs. Irene De Matties of Edwardsville; two brothers, Joseph Kubicek, Frank Kubicek, Edwardsville; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Ladd, Mrs. George (Florence) Ingles, Mrs. John (Minnie) Leitner, Edwardsville; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
  She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic church and also of the Royal Neighbors.
  Friends may call at the Straube funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday until 8:30 a.m. Wednesday when funeral services will be held from the funeral home and then at 9 a.m. from the St. Mary's church with the Rev. P.P. McGuinness officiating.
  Interment will be in Buck road cemetery.
