Ellen P. (LaCosse) Fandrick, age 85, of 711 Flambeau St., Manitowoc, died Saturday,
Jan. 8, 2005, unexpectedly of a heart attack while visiting family in California.
Ellen was born on May 30, 1919 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Edward S. and
Ellen Morris Crowe. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1936.
She worked for AT&T and Rummele Jewelers before marrying Paul N. LaCosse in July
1942, in Manitowoc. Paul was deceased on Nov. 1, 1966. In June 1970, Ellen married
Louis Fandrick in Combined Locks. Lou preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 2004.
Ellen was a lifelong active member of Sacred Heart parish and was involved for many
years with the Catholic Women’s Club. She was a volunteer at Holy Family Memorial
Medical Center. Ellen and Lou were members of several bridge and golf clubs for many
years.
Survivors include her children: Elizabeh (Juan) Alcedo, Mill Valley, Calif.; Ann La
Cosse, San Francisco, Calif.; Robert La Cosse, Milwaukee; Patrick (Patricia) La Cosse,
Manitowoc; Kevin (Heidi) LaCosse, Port Washington; stepchildren: Phyllis Browne, Boston,
Mass.; Mary Grow, Spring Green, Wis.; grandchildren: Paul Robert, LaCosse, Elana Alcedo,
Connor LaCosse, Christian LaCosse, Victoria LaCosse, Cheyenne Grow and Elizabeth Browne.
She is also survived by sister; Rosemary Burns. She was preceded in death by two
brothers: Harold Crowe and William Crowe.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Sacred Heart Church, Manitowoc, on Friday
morning, Jan. 14, 2005, from 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at
Sacred Heart Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Dave Hoffman
with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Memorials may be made to Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with
the funeral arrangements.
Ellen was a very special person who brought a wonderful light into the world. Her unfailing
love and kindness, spirit of helping others, sense of humor, patience, generosity, and
willingness to always do the right thing inspire us all. She will be greatly missed.
