Alfred C. Johnsrud, 59, of 1405 S. 12th St., Manitowoc, life-long Manitowoc
County resident, died early Saturday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
He had been ill five weeks.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manitowoc,
with the Rev. Myron Hoff officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Johnsrud was born Aug. 22, 1900, in the Town of Manitowoc, son of the late
Halvor and Laura Johnson Johnsrud. He married Alma Marquardt at Waukegan, Ill.,
June 11, 1932. He had been employed as a painter by Burger Boat Co. Inc.
Mr. Johnsrud was a member of the Brotherhood of the church, a past president and
past secretary of the Painters Local 499, a member of Eagles Aerie of Manitowoc
and Manitowoc Central Labor Council.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, (private); six brothers, Clarence, Edwin,
John, Melvin and Kenneth of Manitowoc and Lester of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs.
Esther Packard of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Rinehart Pepper of Manitowoc;
and a grandson.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m. Sunday until
9 a.m. Monday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will
lie in state until the hour of service.
