Irene D. Peppler, age 98, resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc,
died Friday evening, Jan. 28, 2011, at Shady Lane.
She was born on Sept. 22, 1912, in Door County, daughter of the late Halvor and
Laura (Johnson) Johnsrud. Irene attended Manitowoc Lincoln High School, graduating
with the class of 1930. On Nov. 5, 1932, she married Reinhart Peppler in Waukegan,
Ill. He preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 1968.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter: Rhoda in 1972; a great-grand-
daughter: Margaret in 1990; eight brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at St. Paul Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Brian Staude with
burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church
Manitowoc from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral
arrangements.
