Mr. Gower was a native of Lexington, TN, where he attended the public schools. He had been a resident of Leland, MS since 1928, where he was engaged in farming until his retirement in 1978 due to ill health. He was an avid sportsman enjoying baseball, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church of Leland, where he served as a deacon and as music director.
He is survied by his wife, Golden Mae Mullens Gower of Leland; three daughters, Mildred G. Zeigler, Frances G. Read and Annette G. Brackeen, all of Leland; one son, Mack Lilbourn Gower, Jr of Leland,; one sister, Rancie G. Bridges of Jackson, TN; one brother, J. W. Gower of Hot Springs, AR; nine grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
