JOHN A. CASPER, SR., 75, of St. Nazianz, died Tuesday evening only a few hours after funeral services were held for his wife, Mary who had passed away Saturday. Mr. Casper, a Town of Liberty farmer for some 50 years, was born at St. Nazianz, July 29, 1883, a son of Joseph and Helen Lockerson Casper. He was married to Mary Heim at St. Nazianz Sept. 17, 1907. Mr. Casper was a member of St. Gregory's Church at St. Nazianz and a member of the Holy Name Society.
He leaves two sons, Sylvester, of R. 1, Kiel, and John Jr., of R. 1, Valders; five daughters, Mrs. Florence Hartmann, Mrs. Dorothy Broeckert, and Mrs. Edwina Schmitt all of Kiel, Mrs. Cledonia Winkel of St. Nazianz and Mrs. Katherine Weichert, R. 1, Newton; 31 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four brothers, Anton of New York, Robert of Bowler, Wis., Edward of Sheboygan, and Frank of Plymouth; and two sisters, Mrs. Monica Apostal, Chicago and Mrs. Minnie Crowe of Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at the Berge Funeral Home in Valders and at St. Gregory's Church, the Rev. Dennis Cooney officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
