Casper, Sylvester August (Dec. 29, 1912-Oct. 30, 1967 –husband of Ruth Schrieber [married Nov. 2, 1938 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of John Casper and Mary Heim –born Town of Liberty –laborer at the Tecumseh factory –worked for the Salvatorian Center in St. Nazianz for 14 years and at the Gutman Lumber Company in St. Nazianz for two years –on Jan. 11, 1944 purchased the 118 acre farm centered at 23436 West Steinthal Road in Section 31, Town of Eaton –on May 25, 1964 sold the 39 acres of swampland from this farm in the SW1/4 of the NW1/4 of Section 30, Town of Eaton –Sylvester owned the 78.5 acre farm in the E1/2 of the NE1/4 of Section 31 until his death in 1967 –his widow Ruth sold this farm on Oct. 31, 1974 –died from “massive posterior wall left ventricular –coronary artery thrombosis” –“died suddenly of a heart attack on his first day of work at Tecumseh Products, New Holstein” –from obit) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 5, Row 3, Lot 1] [marriage record Manitowoc 28-286] [death record Calumet 19-21]

Services Held Today For SYLVESTER CASPER
Sylvester A. Casper, 54, of Route 1, Kiel, died suddenly of a heart attack Monday afternoon on his first day of work at the Tecumsch Products, New Holstein.
Funeral services will be held at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, St. Nazianz at 10:00 a. m. today, Thursday. The Rev. Gregory Putzer, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was born December 29, 1912 in the Town of Liberty, Manitowoc County, a son of the late John and Mary Heim Casper and attended St. Gregory's school in St. Nazianz.
He worked at the Salvatorian Center in St. Nazianz for 14 years and at the Gutmann Lumber Company in St. Nazianz for two years.
He married the former Ruth Schreiber November 2, 1938 in St. Nazianz.Mr. Casper was member of the Holy Name Society at St. Gregory's Church.
He is survived by his wife: five sons, six daughters, six grandchildren; a brother, John Jr. of Route 1, Valders and four sisters, Mrs. Ted Hartmann, Mrs. Lester Melselwitz and Mrs. Elmer Schmidt all of Kiel and Mrs. Ray Weichardt of Route 1, Newton.
A son and sister preceded him in death.
