Cruze, John Webb – age 83 of Knoxville died peacefully at his home and walked through the door to meet Jesus. A Godly man of integrity who was a lifelong member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Choir Member for many years. He was a graduate of Carter High School where he played and was captain for both football and basketball. He retired from KUB after 30 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Hazel Cruze. Survived by wife of 62 years, Dixie Mays Cruze; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Barbara Cruze, Mark and Donna Cruze, Darryl and Cindy Cruze; grandchildren, Michael (Shannon) Cruze, Christen Cruze, Zack Cruze, Marty (Amy) Cruze, Bryan Cruze (and fiancé, Whitney Hickam), Brandi (Shannon) Walker, Jeremy (Ashley) Bell; great-grandchildren, Lydia, Elijah, Hannah, Hayden, Hannah, Kirstyn, Alex and Adalynn; sisters, Dorothy Carter, Doris Murray, Mary Beth Armstrong; sisters-in-law and husband, Evelyn Lovelace, Marcella (Dr. Boyd) Burris, Mary Lynn Waterman; and several nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to Covenant Home Health, and also Hospice Care for their wonderful care and service. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with Dr. Bruce Martin officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, 6500 Strawberry Plains Pike, Knoxville, TN 37914, or The Alzheimer's Association, 2270 Sutherland Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37919. Family and friends will meet 11:45 AM on Friday at Asbury Cemetery for a 12:00 PM interment. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday at the church.
