Joseph J. Mailand, 62, lifelong Manitowoc County resident, died late Sunday evening of a coronary attack at his home on Rt. 1, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Alverno. The Rev. Ronald Kirk, O Praem, will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Mailand was born Dec. 27, 1905, at Manitowoc Rapids, son of the late Frank and Mary Stauber Mailand. He married Lucille Neuser June 25, 1929, and owned and operated a farm in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids. He had been employed 10
years by Manitowoc Engineering Co.
Mr. Mailand was a member of Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and Holy Name Society of St. Joseph Parish.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, (private); two daughters, (private); a brother, Ray, of Fond du Lac; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Brey, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Robert Fessler, of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, and 12 grandchildren. A brother, a sister and a granddaughter preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday where at 8 p.m. the Rosary will be recited by Holy Name Society and parish members and friends.
