Victor F. Hoffman, 92, Hays, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Via Christi Village Long Term Care Center, Hays. He was born July 31, 1920, in Victoria to Michael and Clara (Nemecheck) Dinkel Hoffman.

He married Amelia Sander on Sept. 10, 1945, in Victoria. She preceded him in death Aug. 16, 2003.

He was a pumper and a roustabout with Cities Service Oil Co. in the Bemis fields for 40 years and retired in 1985. He was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, both of Victoria. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, working outside, helping others and playing pinochle. He moved to Hays from Victoria in 2008.

Survivors include three sons, Alan Hoffman and wife, Kay, and David Hoffman and wife, Ruth, all of Hays, and James Hoffman and wife, Gwen, Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Judy Leiker and Kim Wellbrock and husband, Dick, all of Hays; a son-in-law, Marvin Sander, Hays; four brothers, Mike Hoffman and wife, Dorothy, Garden City, Dan Hoffman and Frank Hoffman, both of Hays, and Steve Hoffman, Gorham; four sisters, Aggie Geier, Garden City, Magdalena Dreiling, Denver, Rita Friess, Spearville, and Betty Flax, Dodge City; a sister-in-law, Judy Hoffman, Liebenthal; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Donna Sander; four brothers, Fred Dinkel, Joe Hoffman, Bob Hoffman and Tony Hoffman; and three sisters, Clementine Dinkel, Mary Ann Hoffman and Helen Kreutzer.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, both at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, followed by a Victoria Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30 p.m., both at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to St. Fidelis Catholic Church or Hospice of Hays Medical Center in care of the mortuary.
