Funeral services for Charles Gust Bergsten were held Wednesday, July 30, 1958 at 2 p.m. from the Anderson Funeral Home. Rev. Milton Aarsvold officiated. Pallbearers were Arthur Foslien, Harlan Johnson, Harry Wells, Charles Johnson, Edwin B. Sanstead, Walter Froemming. Interment was made in the East Moe Cemetery.
Charles Gust Bergsten was born July 23, 1874, near Nelson, the son of Andrew M. and Anna Bergsten. When he was a small boy, the Bergsten family came to Alexandria where he was confirmed. Later the Bergsten family moved to Garfield. In 1897, he was united in marriage to Margaret Eggen. Mr. and Mrs. Bergsten have made their residence at Garfield for the past 50 years. Mr. Bergsten passed away at the Hibbard's Nursing Home in Alexandria Saturday, July 26, 1958 at the age of 84 years, 3 days. Surviving him are his wife; one son, Bernhard of Lawndale; five sisters: Mrs. Annie C. Johnson of Garfield, Mary (Mrs. Christ Johnson) of Salinas, Cal., Tillie (Mrs. Charles R. Johnson) of St. Cloud, Ida (Mrs. Knute Knutson) of Garfield, Mrs. Hilda Christenson of Bremerton, Wash., and one brother, Alfred Bergsten
