Julius Magnuson was born December 21, 1895, in LaGrand Township, Minnesota, the son of Alfred and Susanah Magnuson. Julius grew to manhood and attended rural school in this area. He served his country in World War I. Following his duty in the service he returned to the Alexandria area where he farmed and operated a garage with his brothers Albert and Axel for several years.
Julius passed away December 18, 1980 at the Bethany Home in Alexandria where he had resided for one week. He was 84 years of age. Julius is survived by: sister-in-law, Mrs. Albert (Hazel) Magnuson of Alexandria; niece, Mrs. Clifford (Ruth) Peterson of Alexandria; nephews: Harlan Campbell of Alexandria, Albert Magnuson of Burnsville, John Michaelson of Scottsdale, Arizona and James Michaelson of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters: Axel, August, Albert, Nina Michaelson and Esther Campbell.
Funeral services were December 20, 1980 at the Anderson Funeral Chapel of Alexandria with Rev. Fred Tuma officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery of Alexandria. Pallbearers were Clifford Peterson, Harlan Campbell, Norman Seppanen and Albert Magnuson. Arrangements with Anderson Funeral Home.
