Esther Ruth Campbell was born Feb. 12, 1900, in LaGrande township, the daughter of Alfred and Susanna Magnuson. She attended the Alexandria high school and later the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis. She was also employed by the Brown & Bigelow Co. in Minneapolis for several years; and in August of 1932, she was united in marriage to Harlan Campbell. Mr. Campbell preceded her in death on July 4, 1953, and after the death of Mr. Campbell, Mrs. Campbell continued to reside in Alexandria with the exception of two winters which she spent in California. While in Alexandria, she had also been employed at the KXRA Radio Station.
Mrs. Campbell passed away Nov. 19th, at the Douglas County hospital at the age of 59 years, 9 months and 7 days. She is survived by one son, Harlan, Jr.; one step-son, Ross Campbell of San Diego, Calif.; one step-daughter, (Harriet) Mrs. Jack Flanagan of Philadelphia; two brothers, Julius and Albert Magnuson of Alexandria; and one sister, (Nina) Mrs. Herman Michaelson of Alexandria. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, and two brothers, August and Axel.
