Last rites for Mrs. George V. Kelly were held last Monday morning, July 1, 1935, at 9 o'clock at St. Patrick's church, Camp Grove, with the Rev. Fr. T.S. Brunnick, pastor of St. Patrick's in charge. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery, at Camp Grove.

Sarah Matilda Smith, daughter of Joseph M. and Anna Logsdon Smith, was born at Thompsonville, Ky, on September 23, 1888, and died at the Henry Hospital at 10 a.m. on June 28, 1935, at the age of 47 years, 9 months and 5 days. Death was due to a complication of diseases which followed the measles, bringing on a streptoccocci infection.

She attended school at Raywick and Lebanon, Kentucky, graduating from high school at the latter place. She taught school until her marriage on January 29, 1913, at Raywick, Kentucky, to George Kelly of that place. Eight children were born to this union. A daughter, Mary Winifred, passed away six years ago.

They came to Illinois soon after their marriage, and since then have made their home in the Bradford and Camp Grove communities, until three years ago when they moved to a farm near Henry. She was a woman of loving and charming personality, and was loved by all who knew her, giving a good example of Christian faith and motherhood. She made a loving and tender wife and mother, and will be deeply and sadly missed by those who are left to mourn the loss of one so dear, as only a mother can be. She is survived by her husband and seven children, Sister M. Clarentia of Sinsinawa, Wisconsin; Robert, Raymond, Margaret, Joseph, Bernard, and Sarah. She also leaves her aged father, Joseph M. Smith, of Raywick, Kentucky; three sisters, Sister Mary Raymond of Mount St. Joseph, Kentucky; Mrs. Arthur Carrico, Mrs. Wallace Carrico of Swan Creek, Illinois, and a brother, Leo Smith, of Bradford; besides many other relatives and friends. The mother, two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.

The pallbearers were: Thomas Bickett, Warner Bickett, Roland Doyle, Edward Ely, Adrian Head and Fred Colgan.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral were : Sister M. Clarentia and Sister Calmon, Sinsinawa, Wis; Sister Mary Raymond and Sister Patrick of Mount St. Joseph, Ky; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Carrico and son J.B., Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Carrico of Swan Creek, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Smith of Bradford, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bickett and family of Wyoming, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Tyler Bickett and sons, Estil and Thomas of Henry, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Leo McCauley and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Morris and children of Tiskilwa.
