JOSEPH LEO SMITH, 58, of Hanna City, died at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Francis Hospital. He had resided in Peoria County the last eight years. Born in Thompsonville, Kentucky, April 19, 1890, he was the son of Joseph M. and Ann Logsdon Smith. He was married to Miss Thelma Mills on January 7, 1920 in Bradford, Illinois. He was a member of St. Mark's Church. Surviving besides his wife, four sons, Joseph A., James E., and Charles R. Smith, all of Hanna City, and Leo B. Smith of Dunlap; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Carrico of Bushnell, Mrs. Wallace Carrico of Roseville, and Sister Mary Raymond in a convent in Louisville, Kentucky; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Boland Mortuary and at 10 a.m. at St. Mark's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Boland Mortuary after 3 p.m. Monday and recitation of the Rosary will be held at 8 p.m. Monday.
