DEATH CLAIMS YOUNG WOMAN
Mrs. Margaret Smith Mills, aged 25, wife of Abell Mills, of Raywick, died at eight o'clock Friday night at an Infirmary in this city, where she had been brought for treatment a few days before. She had been ill for ten months, and, in the quest for health, had submitted to three operations since January 1st. Her early death brings much sorrow to a host of friends, who had hoped for her recovery.

Mrs. Mills was a bride of but a few months. Prior to her marriage she was Miss Margaret Smith, daughter of Joe W. Smith of Raywick. She was born in Washington County September 16, 1900. She is survived only by her father and her husband, all other members of her family having preceded her to the grave.

The remains were taken to the home of her father at Raywick Friday night. On Monday morning funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Joseph J. Diemert at St. Xavier's Catholic Church and burial was in the church cemetery.

Note: According to information passed down by friends she was injured in a prank on her wedding night. Her marriage took place on November 18, 1924 at Raywick.

The Angel of Death has again visited our community and plucked another flower from the garden of life, Mrs. Abel Mills. Mrs. Mills had been in ill health for some months. She was taken to an infirmary in Lebanon last Wednesday where an operation was performed Thursday morning. It was thought the operation was a success until Thursday evening when a change was made for the worse and all hope for her recovery vanished. She died Friday evening at 8 o'clock. Mrs. Mills was before her marriage ten months ago Miss Bernadette Smith, daughter of Mr. Joe Smith.Had she lived until September 9 she would have been 25 years old. One of the largest crowds that ever gathered at St. Francis Xavier's church assembled there Monday morning to pay their last respects to one, who gone to her eternal reward, will never be forgotten. Mrs. Mills was a devout member of the Catholic church and had many friends who will learn with regret of her death. Funeral services were conducted at St. Francis Xavier's church Monday morning and burial was in the church cemetery. Besides her husband she is survived by her father, Mr. Joe Smith,; four sisters, Sister M. Raymond, of the O. S. U.,; Mrs. Arthur Carrico, Mrs. George Kelly and Mrs. Wallace Carrico, all of Illinois; and one brother Mr. Leo Smith of Illinois who was unable to attend the funeral. The sorrowing relatives have most heartfelt sympathy in their sad bereavement.
