Alcide A. Bourgeois, 77, of 63 Cole Lane, Troy, a retired shipper for textile mills, died last night at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Bourgeois was the father of Paul A. Bourgeois, a teacher at Columbia High School in East Greenbush and supervisor of the 4th Ward in Cohoes.

He was married to the late Alma M. Beaudoin. He worked for the Fuld and Hatch Knitting Co. and more recently for the Walsh Knitting Mills, Inc., both of Cohoes.

Other survivors include two other sons, George Bourgeois of Troy and Bernard Bourgeois of Salem; two brothers, Oscar Bourgeois of Cohoes and Eugene Bourgeois of Schenectady, and three sisters, the Misses Ida and Lumina Bourgeois of Cohoes and Sister Mary Philippe Alexandrie of Montreal, Canada.

Mr. Bourgeois lived in Cohoes virtually all of his life and had moved to Troy only in retirement.
The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. from the A. G. Boivin’s Sons Funeral Home, 70 Congress St., with a Solemn Requiem Mass being offered at St. Joseph’s Church at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
